READING-Finding a good book & Free ebook sources

 There are so many ways you may find books of interest! The following are some suggestions :

 

http://hfc-app:8080/  School's Online Public Access Catalog  - Create a list of books you wish to read from the HFCS library using Follett/DestinyQuest. Students have been given their user name and password in class by Mrs. Gibbs . Searches may be done by reading level zones. Also check for book reviews here from your fellow students of books that they recommend.


http://www.arbookfind.com/advanced.aspx  - Accelerated Reader Book Finder/Advanced Search  This search screen allows you to search for titles by author title, ISBN #, quiz # and Interest level and Lexile Measure.  Just type in your Interest Level and your ZPD- lexile zone provided by your classroom teacher. Make sure to click "Show Lexile Level" before your search. See video below: 

 


 https://www.scholastic.com/kids/books/ -Look into  series, and individual titles in SciFi, Fantasy , Humor, Graphic Novels, Historical, Mystery/Horror, Nonfiction. This site provides excerpts of the books and age recommendation.

New Book Alerts- Visit New Book Alerts and subscribe via email or RSS to receive a weekly alert on the latest books, movies, and music purchased by OCLS! New Book Alerts for ages 4-8 , or ages 9-12.
